Glassmorphism, named by Michał Malewicz in 2020: a semi-transparent panel over a vivid blurred backdrop, a one-pixel light border, a soft shadow, a 16-pixel radius. Its neighbours are neumorphism (2019), which extrudes shapes from a same-coloured background, and claymorphism (2021), the puffy pastel. Apple's Liquid Glass of 2025 adds refraction and motion.
backdrop-filter shipped in browsers and the trend cycle ran through Dribbble. Neumorphism and glass are opposites, and clay was the fix for neumorphism's one weakness, that it only works on one background colour. These are the UI trends in the gallery's six kinds: software fashions with a half-life of a few years.
Five radial-gradient orbs on indigo. The panel's blur is a 20-pixel downscale of that layer drawn back up with smoothing, then a 12% white fill and a 25% white rim. The figure is lit by face and given a sheen from the top-left. At the foot, a neumorphic toggle on its own slab and a clay button with its outer shadow and two inner glows.
